A feature of the 15th century (finished in 1486) Klosterkirche is the elaborate tomb near the front altar.
The late Gothic double sarcophagus (tumba) of Count Bernhard VII zur Lippe (d. 1511) and his wife Anna zur Lippe, Countess of Holstein and Schauenburg (d. 1495) is located in the choir/altar area of the Blomberg Klosterkirche.
The Tomb: Created around 1511–1515, likely by sculptor Heinrich Brabender, it features life-sized figures of the couple and is considered a significant piece of art in the church.
The Location: While it is often associated with the main altar area, sources indicate this tomb was originally situated in the central nave, but it now rests in the choir.
The Crypt: Other members of the House of Lippe (19 individuals) are buried in a separate crypt under the west part of the church.
Bernhard VII was the founder of the monastery, and Anna was the first to be buried in the church in 1495. (Wikipedia)
