Schleswig / Holm was photographed as part of a private tour through the region with a family historian. This gallery concentrates on the “suburb” of Holm, an old fishing village that is now absorbed into the larger town of Schleswig. Photographed by James Derheim, European Focus Private Tours as part of a genealogy tour with a family historian in June, 2017. The historic fishing village located in Schleswig, Germany, is called Holm. Founded over 1,000 years ago on a former island along the Schlei waterway, it is known for its charming, narrow cobblestone streets, colorful houses, and a small harbor that still reflects its fishing heritage. It is considered the oldest district in the city.
